Option # 1 Original Medicare (Parts A Hospital & Part B Medical) Original Medicare is government-funded program. (Part D) Prescription Drug Plans is not included with Original Medicare.
· Does not include (Part D Prescription Drug) coverage and/or supplemental coverage like Medigap, must purchase separate if wanting help with out-of-pocket costs.
· Does not include vision, dental, or earring coverages must purchase a separate policy.
Option # 2 Medicare Advantage (Part C) Includes Parts A Hospital & Part B Medical and Part D Prescription Drug Plan).
Medicare Advantage plans are approved plan from private companies that offer an alternative to Original Medicare. Plans are usually bundled with additional benefits for vision, dental, and hearing.
When choosing option consider the following.
· Consider your healthcare needs which include health condition, medications, and preferred physicians.
· Compare cost for premiums, deductibles, copayments, and coinsurances.
· Evaluate coverages to ensure plans cover specific services
· Review provider networks to include your preferred physicians and hospital
Cost: (Part A Hospital) to qualify for premium-free must worked at least 10 years or 40 quarters. (Part B Medical) has a monthly premium cost that varies based on reported adjusted gross income. Both include coinsurance, copay, and deductibles.
