FOUR PARTS OF MEDICARE

 PARTS OF MEDICARE

PART A is known as Hospital insurance, covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care, and some home health care. 

PART B is known as Doctors care. Covers services from doctors, outpatient care, home health care, durable medical equipment, and preventive services.

PART D is known as drug coverages. Covers the cost of prescription drugs.

PART C is known as Medicare Advantage, approved plan from private company that offers alternative to Original Medicare. Plans includes part A, part B, and usually part D. 

ORIGINAL MEDICARE Part A and Part B

Original Medicare is a fee-for-service health plan that has two parts, Part A (Hospital) and Part B (Medical). After you pay a deductible Medicare pay its share of Medicare approved amount and you pay coinsurance. Original Medicare does not cover everything.  Yu can see any doctor or specialist that accepts Medicare nationwide. You do not need to obtain a referral to see a specialist.  You will need to purchase a stand alone part D drug plan. If you want additional insurance you can purchase a Medicap Plan as well to help with extra cost. Visit Medicare.gov to lean more. 

MEDICARE ADVANTAGE Part C

Medicare Advantage is approved plan from a private insurance company that contracts with Medicare. These plan offer extra benefits that Original Medicare does not. Medicare Advantage Plans include Part A, Part B, and Part D. Medicare Part C becomes your primary source of coverage rather than Original Medicare (Part A and Part B). These plans offer several plan options based on needs, HMO, PPO, PFFS, SNP, or MSA. . Visit Medicare.gov to lean more.

PRESCRIPTION DRUG PLAN Part D

Prescription Drug Plan also known as Part D coverage is available through private insurance companies. The federal government does not provide Medicare Part D policies. You will need to be purchased a stand alone policy.. The premium depends on carrier and plan selection. It is up to you to decide which option is right for your needs.
